Is the pulley cord now a chain ? Previous questions and comments suggested it was a nylon band that failed frequently
It’s I a chain , there is a cord attached too used to pull the handle down further. Works great 👍🏻

The nylon cord on my Fiskars telescopic pruner has broken. Someone tried to cut a branch that was too hard, and the cord snapped just below the cutting mechanism. I have loved this tool for many years. Is there a way to repair it?

Did not last long
I have had 2 of these pruners. Both of them worked until the cord came unraveled making them unusable.

Great tool, has some manufacturing issues.
I bought this a year ago and it is 'broke' already... but i love the product and hope Fiskars continues to improve it. The pulley 'tape' rope dives into the metal upper shaft just above the telescoping lock and then proceeds up to a pulley in the shaft near the pruning head. The tooling used to create the hole in the shaft leaves behind lots of sharp edges that quickly degrade the tape-rope. This must be fixed! If you are buying this product new you should inspect this area very carefully. Do not buy if you see tooling marks in this area or if the edges seem sharp. They will cut up the tape and a few operations of the tool will show degradation of the tape. If you have one, remove the tape-rope per the videos (the knots can be undone), clean up the hole with jewelers files, 1/8" or smaller round file, or even just drill out the hole and add some kind of gromet. I'm going to re-rope the tool, file out the hole, and maybe enamel the hole edges because I love this tool and it is worth some additional love.

Extendable Power-Stroke Tree Prunner
I bought this pruner a few months ago and the spring broke. Very disappointed and it seems impossible to file a warranty claim on Fiskers website.

very handy tool for commercial pruning
only thing keeping it from 5 stars is its a great design but needs to be built to last much longer as we use them commercially. The nylon drive tape should be changed to a thin cable. The nylon snaps after around 2 seasons

Handy yard tool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is the cats meow. You can use this tool to trim most all of your trees from the ground. We only have 3 trees but hubby was able to thin out the branches he needed to without using a ladder. If you don’t use it…I’m sure your neighbor can find a use for it.

Easy on a whim
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pole chain saw that I use primarily to trim and prune my trees. It works great, but there are times I just don't feel like using a chain saw. This is a perfect solution for easier or quicker cuts. I'm a big fan of having both the jaws and the saw blade as options. They both work great. The rotating head truly makes it easier to prune at different angle. My only complaint is the cord. While I appreciate it being out of the way in the indent that runs up the pole, I feel like it may be slightly chintzy. We'll see how it lasts. Otherwise, I've really enjoyed using this. I've done 6 trees now.

Great pruner!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this! He used it to trim the branches of the tree in our backyard. He said it was easy to use, and the length of the handle helped him reach the harder to reach areas. The blade is sharp and cut the branches easily.
