Description
The Essential Living Composter is the 3rd generation of worm composters created by FCMP OUTDOOR. The Essential Living Composter offers all the same design features as the previous model but at a budget-friendly price. It also has all the features traditionally found in top-end vermicomposters. The liquid collected in the reservoir base is known as worm tea. Mix 1 part tea with 1 part water to create an excellent fertilizer for plants. The efficiency of the vermicomposting process keeps typical composing odour to a minimum and allows the unit to be kept inside and used year-round. Constructed from BPA free, UV inhibited, recycled polypropylene the plastic is contact safe and will not degrade if outside under direct sunlight. The composter does not come with worms. To purchase the red wiggler worms for your composter a quick internet search should help you find a company that can ship them to you quickly.
- The resulting worm castings create a nutrient rich compost to use as a powerful soil additive.

- The moisture control water retention channel running around the outside of each tray collects water to prevent the bedding from drying out along the edges.
- A collection of 52 angled migration tunnels extend down from the base of each tray providing ample opportunity for worms to migrate between trays.

Super easy to set up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bin is the perfect thing if you want to get into composting. For starters, the directions are extremely straight forward and makes it easy for beginners. Second, the bin is very easy to assemble. It is a good size but small enough to place in a corner outside to tuck away. Highly recommend!

Excited at progress
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The directions that came with the worm composter are very basic and not very helpful. The directions on the website were much more thorough and had more key details to know. I had big worms and little worms and after the first night there was a pile of the little worms on the floor under the composter. The big worms are still going strong and loving their enclosure. I am starting to get some worm tea and excited at the progress in just 2 weeks! The composter is sturdy and easy to open to add more kitchen scraps as needed. There is an extremely faint odor but I have it in my basement so it doesn't bother me.

Great Little Composter
As an experienced worm composer, I was looking for something that was smaller and easier on my back. My last composter was a Can-O-Worms. The trays were too heavy when full. This 6 Gallon setup is just what I’m looking for. I love the big holes in the bottom of the trays, much easier to clean out the castings. Some other reviews have criticized the smaller size, but just think about it, your castings will be ready sooner!!

I have put it next to the kitchen door and every time I have organic waste I put it there to fertilize the soil. that I am preparing for this next year and so that spring already has enough for my plants that are bigger

Excited!

So far, it’s been very easy to set up, and start using. Of course these things take time to reap the rewards from, but if the start up is any indication, I see a great benefit ahead of me with this composted bin!
I appreciate the simple design, and the stackable system. I also like the purple color, and the sturdiness of the box. Looking forward to continuing to use this product for a long time to come! Seems great for beginners like me!

Great features

I did not believe it could be true! I am so glad this product is in my basement. It was so easy to put together, the directions were very simple and came in multiple languages. I liked that there's multiple levels it's just awesome!

Great fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been a blast watching the worms work. This is a nice sized compost bin that blends right into the kitchen. We have not had any odors or problems with bugs. It is about time to move to the second tray, and we are looking forward to using the new compost. This is a very fun and practical way to use scraps.
