Good suction on main vacuum.
The main vacuum works great love the suction, works great on floors and carpet. Hate the tool attachment hose. There is a long piece of solid pipe that slides out and makes bending to do stairs or baseboard impossible as it cuts off the suction. Basically I hate using the vacuum for anything other than floors. I cleaned houses for almost 18 years and have used a lot of vacuums. Its my third dyson and maybe my last. Definitely won't be recommending this model to anyone.

Not a very robust vacuum.
We purchased this vacuum and were very surprised to have a catastrophic failure after only two years of normal, household use. Started vacuuming one day, and very soon after there was a snap sound, the vacuum started sounding funny and there was. a very strong burning smell. Took it for repair and it was replaced with a new one. Fast-forward two years and the same thing happened again. Cost to "fix" by Dyson is not cheap, but of course cheaper than buying a new one. Just very surprised that this vacuum has not lasted more than two years before catastrophic failure, not something I would expect from this brand.

I’m sick of this stupid machine
I’ll start by saying the suction is great and it’s easy to set up and empty, that’s all I like about this. This is my first vacuum purchase and I regret it so much. I wish I bought a cordless stick because the fact that this is so big and you have to wrap the cord around instead of pressing a button and the cord retracting makes me not use it as much as I need to. It’s very heavy too. Also, the stick part is too small to shove a broom into when something gets stuck in it, so now I’m always using tweezers and chopsticks and they don’t work great. Overall I would only recommend this to someone who absolutely needs an upright vacuum. I desperately wish I got a different model. I tried to exchange this when I got it and they wouldn’t let me.

It’s just ok
Purchased this Dyson because we have a cordless and loved it but battery dies with 30 minutes so wanted a corded model.
The suction is fantastic and cleans carpets very well.
The hose design is terrible. It barely extends and will pull down the whole vacuum when using it
Very disappointed in this model

Needs some improvements.
This is the second Dyson I have purchased. The first one was a canister that I purchased in 2008 and had till 2020 and went through lots of punishment......cat and dog fur, dust, sand and kids and husband. I purchased this one as I had read the reviews by others especially ones that had dogs. There are pros and cons of this vacuum. I have a Great Pyrenees who sheds like crazy and figured that this would be a great one to have. Pros Emptying the dirt canister is a one hand job and very easy. There are not messy bags to have to deal with. The suction is great and does get all the fur of the couch and vacuum and every where else. Transition from carpet to hardwood floor no problem. Cord is long enough to clean a large area without having to unplug to clean in an other room. Lot of tools especially the grooming tool (but my dog does not like it). I can vacuum up the lint from the lint that escapes the lint trap screen (which is not very wide). Storing the vacuum does take less room than my old one did. Cons My biggest complaint is that after vacuuming the carpet I have to take scissors to powerhead brush to get the fur off. The fur gets wounded up around the beater brush. Is not easy to use on stairs. Cord is wrapped around two hooks which have to be taken off if using the hose or even to use for a quick clean up. IF the cord was retractable it would make things easier. It is slightly heavy especially if a person has back or shoulder issues. Overall it is a good vacuum and I am pleased with Dyson's products over other brands that I have used (when visiting family and cleaning up the fur from the dog). I am not sure what can be done about the fur winding around the beater brush.
