easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to engrave my fiance's initials in his work tools to prevent easy theft - and boy was this engraver so easy to use. It does vibrate your hand quite a bit, but I am sure that is to be expected with an engraver. Glad I have it because I can use it for so much more than tools - I got mine second hand - so did not realize this model came with a stencil. I have some stencils that I am going to try using with it to see if that makes a differene.

Argh!
Had a terrible time relieving the set screw before being able to insert the bit. Very tenuous. I am not a beginner!!!!

I bought this Drexel Engraver so that I can engrave my driver’s license # on things like electronic equipment so that law enforcement will know it’s mine. This works. I’ll be ordering more tips; I like the variety available.

A must-have for Derby Day!
Every year, the Brew Boys get together to watch the Kentucky Derby. It is now tradition to engrave our mint julep cup with the names of our favorite horses, songs, and other pleasantries. This particular engraver by Dremel was excellent for the job. It worked great on the number 1 setting.
The only issue was that one of the Brew Boys did not want to engrave his cup. But this is not the fault of the Dremel 290-01 Electric Engraver Kit.

Look no further
I absolutely love this and it's not made in China. I have been looking for a long time for a simple way to sign my wood turnings. I tried all methods including wood burning. This is just so easy to use and does exactly what you want.
