Description
Grind sharp points or metal edges with the help of a Dremel grinding stone. With a rotary tool, it helps in deburring the welded joints, castings or rivets. An aluminium oxide grinding stone of 3/8 in length is ideal for rust removal.

this bit changed for the worse!
Now this bit come with a paper backing and a grit that is loose and breaks off in chunks. Poor quality. Why did you change this? It was perfect before and is now unusable. Please change the bits back!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stone is fine for those tiny jobs such as grinding a new edge on a knife, or putting a new point on an awl. aluminum will clog the pores of the stone, so it's not great when working soft metal. I've also used this one for making bare the case on a potentiometer for soldering. Not used every day, but great to have in the arsenal.

Great on scaly heels
Much better and easier to remove scaly skin from my feet than an electric sander. I find the 15000 rpm best for this application.

They used to be the best!
I have been using these before the change for the past 5 years. And was always satisfied with the quality. Now these come with a paper backing, and the stone is much softer and the grit is loose. This causes the stone to deteriorate at a considerable rate compared to the old style. Not to mention the grind that is left behind is so rough, i have to go back over it with another grinding stone so it is smooth enough to not tear up the flapwheel sanders. Extremely disappointed in the quality change of these bits. In the photos attached you can see the older style on the right, and the new paper backed ones on the left. You can tell the looser grit from the tighter grit. Same packaging, same price, much different quality.

Does the job its intended for, maybe to well...
Came with my Dremel 3000. As i was getting my file out to sharpen my mower blade, I happened to see this little grinding stone in the case on my tool bench. What could it hurt? After less than a minute, apparently my finger... That beat up blade was razor sharp and held up all season. The stone doesn't even look like i've used it yet and I've sharpened my axes, 2 hatchets, and a 'digging bar' I use to bust up ice. Great product that I've recommended to a few friends and they thanked me for it. Only down side is now I need to figure out what to do with those files....
