Poor design
Bought to use in my old nicad tools to use with my new lithium batteries and product is horrible. Can’t get it to release from tool and now stuck with it on my drill. I have a whole line of DeWalt tools and it seems like they want you to buy an adapter for each tool. Poor design. Would give negative stars if I could. Hopefully DeWalt takes this into consideration and do something about it

Designed By Someone Who Doesn't Use Tools
2 stars because it works. I can't give it any more because of how difficult it is to remove. You are forced to purchase this or all of your 18V tools will be useless. I am a man with man hands and can't get it off without 2 flathead screwdrivers and some cussing. This is poorly designed for quick removal between tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It will not work with the 6AH Batteries, and it say that nowhere on any of the packaging for the adapter or the batteries

I would like to understand why you DO NOT note that when not in use you MUST remove

Works great
I cut the 2 little tabs off each side if the tool adapter and all batteries work with it. Best tool yet saved all my old tools that use 18v and yes all flex volt batteries work after cutting the tabs off.

Absolute game changer
Bought one of these converters and a couple of cheap (1.5Ah) 20V Max batteries to try and breathe new life into my old DeWalt tool set, and it's like I have new tools again. Yeah, all the wear and tear is there, but the power is back up to what I remember as new.

Why doesn't DeWalt answer all the complaints that the 20v 6ah battery wont fit the 18v converter?

Says it's compatible with all 20V... it isn't
I bought two 20V 8ah batteries because this adapter says it should work with them. When I went to put the battery on my drill, there are two little plastic prongs keeping it from making contact. And they're not flexvolt or premium or whatever nonsense, just regular dewalt 20V batteries. It works great with small batteries that last a half hour, but that's pretty stupid they didn't at least mention on the packaging that the normal sized batteries are incompatible. They didn't mention it at all. Now I ended up spending a lot of money on dewalt junk for nothing.
