Description
Cut smooth surfaces across wood with the Dewalt cordless planer. Running on a powerful brushless motor, it makes 30,000 cuts per minute and has an ergonomic handle for a firm grip and control. Aluminum shoes in the front and back achieve parallel cuts and edge chamfering. Prop the brushless planer up on a kickstand for brief breaks without gouging material.

Chip Extraction Problems
The tool seems to have good power and sharp blades out of the box, but the chip extraction is pretty terrible. Running without the dust bag or vacuum attached causes the chip chute to plug almost immediately in my experience. The problem disappears when using a vacuum attachment. Would give a better rating if this problem was solved.

A must for plaining doors on remodels
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for plaining doors. Also has built in grooves for door edges. Easily adjustable. Only complaint isn’t it doesn’t come with exhaust bag.

Residential new build and renovation
I use this planer pretty regularly on residential new build homes and renovations. Mostly it gets used for straightening wall framing. It works brilliantly in this application, however, I do have to make sure the exhaust port doesn't face upwards. If it does face upwards the port will block about 50% of the time from the shavings. My only other gripe is that there is no face that allows the framing to be done directly up to a face, the planing stops about 2-3" of the floor or ceiling due to the drive etc that sticks out the side.
But all up this is a great planer, it gets the job done no matter the material. Replacement blades are cheap, the body is solid and the grips feel good. The depth adjustment has a good feeling positive click, and there is a small place to keep spare blades. Batteries can drain fast, but as above the tool is powerful. Blade change is easy. The safety is easy to operate one handed.

Manque d accessoires
Très dessus cet outil ne coupe pas droit et creuse un trou dans le bois du côté gauche même à zéro aucune sac de poussière et les tuyaux d aspirateur ne fit pas aucun adaptateur fourni et les sac à poussière de sableuse dewalt ne tien pas non plus franchement ya place a améliorations de plu on trouve aucun accessoires en magazin pour set appareils

Proper blade alignment impossible
Carbide blades do not align properly using provided alignment gauge causing uneven cutting and removal of material even when cut depth set to 0 making this planer useless and a waste of money overall disappointed in DeWalt on this one

- Dust-shoot always gets clogged up, and makes it harder for the tool to work properly. This happens with soft wood, sheetrock, mdf, osb, particleboard etc. For me this deducts the planer one star or even more. The dust shoot would also be better if it could swivel and even remain closer to the central axis of the tool to make it stick out less.
-Dust-port without bluetooth is only half as good as one with.
I would also love to see the tool slightly narrower so that you can operate closer to walls.
Overall, Dewalt should discontinue this model in favor of one that more resembles the Makita.There is significant room for improvement. Dewalt should make it a goal that all tools that produce dust should be easily connected to vacuums of many different brands with bluetooth.

"edge chamfering"
Works great except for two things. You'll want to buy the dust bag as it really throws the chips.The owners manual tells you it edge chamfers,but it doesn't allow for adjustment and the cut is far too wide for simple door edging.
