They just work well and forever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had three of these compact 4ah batteries for a few years now. They have been fantastic. I can use them all day in my DCF 840 impact driver and not see a drop. Or my sander…. They just work. I’d certainly recommend them to anyone. Unlike other negative post, I can leave them for days on the tool, move them from tool to tool and continue using before I need to swap out to a fresh battery or charge. I’m no contractor but these get used. Now I am shopping for either more compact 4ah or the new Powerstack 1.7ah?

Won’t charge
I have 4 of these batteries that are right around 2 years old and 3 out of the 4 won’t charge or hold a charge for anytime at all. I have plenty of older and newer batteries but only having issues with these 4ah ones

Great tools to get the job done
Over the past 3-4 years I’ve accumulated over 20 Dewalt cordless tools and about 15 20 volt batteries. I’ve never had any problems with any of tools or batteries, couple tools didn’t work as well as I hoped but I’m fine with that. I use to use Rigid 18 volts and had nothing but trouble. Come winter I use my brushless drill to auger my fishing holes plenty of power.

Former Ridgid tool guy!
I gave all my Ridgid tool sets to my Son about three years ago. He hasn't had a problem with them at all. The batteries last forever. I also kind of miss them.
I bought two new Dewalt sets when building the new house. Then bought some extra tools that didn't come with the kits, like the blower, weedeater, hedger, large impact driver, scrolling saw and a few others. I like my Dewalt tools. We purchased a lot of them for two of our homes. But I agree with some of these complaints about the batteries. We have a few batteries that didn't last a year and won't hold a charge. Discarded them at our local recycling center.
Check this out. All Registered Ridgid tools have lifetime Warranty, also on the batteries. I sent back a ridgid battery with free replacement.
I even broke a Ridgid drill, sent it to Ridgid. They replaced it. No questions.
Dewalt! You need to step up to the plate, with free battery replacements. As the Dewalt tools break, I will throw them away. When the batteries stop working, I will donate the Dewalt tools I have left over to someone that still uses Dewalt tools.
I believe I will be moving back to Ridgid tools in the next few years.

Dewalt, I give you a 65 average.
I'm a small private contractor in upstate New York. I've been using dewalt for about 10 years, due to ease of finding replacements and general compatibility with other dewalt owners on the job. I too have a shelf full of failed dewalt tools and several batteries that haven't seemed to last long. Sometimes you get a good one Sometimes you don't. I feel that anywhere that sells dewalt should also handle sending the tools out for replacement/repair.

Poor charging
4Ah batteries won't charge up
I have several DeWalt Li batteries but I have TWO 4Ah batteries only charge to two lights. They die very quickly. Batteries are 1 year and 2 months old.
I do not recommend them.

Heartbroken
Fianally saved up enough cash to buy a few DeWalt tools. Purchased the drill, impact, skill saw set with charger and two batteries for home use when needed. In less than a year hardly used thus everything still virtually brand new but one of the batteries will not take a charge. Very disappointing especially when you take into account the price for new one.

Don't slide on tools well
These are poorly designed. Don't slide on tools well(really hard some tools) and if you use on an impact that has a belt clip. Really hard to slide on. have to smack it to go into the battery hole. Should not have been wide. Should have stuck with normal width.
