Exceeded my expectations!
We purchased this little mower and have used and a used it since 2021. It's a work horse on our 2.88 acre property. The entire property has thick, tall grass, 1/4" to half inch mesquite, huisache, and old man's beard weeds. This little tractor has cut it all. I replaced the battery once, the blades three times, and the deck belt just today, 11/4/2023. It has about 90 hours now. The tires are not good if you have thorns on your property. I ended up buying 4-ply tires front and back.

Excellent residential lawn tractor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased my 42 inch XT 1 in 2018. Has worked without problem since. About 150 hours now. Love the tight turning radius and the quality cut. Change oil yearly with 10/30 full synthetic. The zerk fittings on the front wheel are a problem since a regular grease gun will loosen them or pull them off. I removed them, plugged the holes, and hand grease the wheels after removing them, a simple job. The machine starts every time, the battery is original, the spindle bearings are fine, and the belts are good.

$2,000 lawn ornament after 14 months!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this April 2014 because of the Cub Cadet name and it's been out of commission off and on a few months. I the 14 months I have had it I've had to replace the front tires, the deck belt 3 times no, the first time I thought it was just normal wear, the 2nd time I though it was because I bought a cheap one. The most recent time I got the recommended cub cadet brand one and it ran less than a minute or two and less than 50 feet before it came off and started to shred, when we turned off the mower to check the belt it wouldn't restart, battery had a charge, oil was fine the main sprocket is bad. I have maybe run it 20 hours because I don't mow every week and I only have 1/2 acre and it's been down because of the belt for a month. I should have gotten my 10 year old yard machine fixed last year and not spent the money on this.

Could Be Better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this mower for the most part but there is one issue that keeps it from getting 5 stars from me. Grass flies out from under the front of the deck when mowing and goes everywhere. It does throw grass out the chute like it should but my problem is the amount that comes out from the front of the deck while mowing. I read this in another review before I bought it but did not think it would be that big of an issue. Well, I was wrong. It is a pretty big issue and I assume it is because of the stock "high lift" blades but I am not sure and do not want to pay more money for different blades only to have it continue. I do not use a bagger and do not plan too. I have adjusted the height of the blades the proper way and this did not seem to help. I've also tried different deck heights and speeds while mowing and have the same issue. The mower cuts well and the grass looks good but I just get covered in grass from the knees down and if it's dry grass even drifts up around my face. The engine compartment and top of the deck accumulate a lot of grass to due to the blowout so I have to blow them off after each use. I do like the tight turns and the feature that lets you keep cutting in reverse without having to hold a button down each time. This mower replaced a 15 year old "green & yellow" brand tractor and I never had this issue with that one. I bought the Cub this time around due to the Kohler 19.5 HP engine which I do like so far. I want to like this mower but the grass flying out from places it wasn't designed to makes me less than thrilled with it.
