I cannot get a brand new unit to turn over, it started and I had to stop it to put up the drain pipes and now it will not turn over. How can one charge the battery if that is what it is.
Please follow the instructions outlined in your owner’s manual under the ‘Set Up’ section. If those steps do not resolve the issue, consider contacting a service center.

do you really need the side discharge (490-950-M045) so you can discharge the grass when cutting
Thank you for your question. For Safety and effective grass clippings dispersion always install a deflector chute kit when using side discharge mode of cutting. Model 490-950-M045 available at mtdparts.ca

Battery charged no whirring sound no starter not engaging ,first startup 9f second year

If the starter is not engaging at all, ensure safety switches are active - sit firmly in the operator seat, parking brake on, shift lever in neutral, mowing deck disengaged. Good product, not good post sale service.
I recently purchased a riding mower from Rona Barrie, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. Let me start with the positive aspects.
Sales Process:
The sales process was excellent. The salesperson was knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. They provided detailed information about the mower and various add-ons, which was very helpful in making an informed decision. The delivery was also on time, and everything arrived in perfect condition.
Initial Experience:
However, the problems began when I tried to turn on the mower for the first time. To my disappointment, the battery was completely dead. I had assumed that since it was a new purchase, the mower would be ready to use out of the box. Instead, I had to jump-start it using my motorcycle jumper cables. Despite running the mower for two hours, the battery never held a charge.
Post-Sales Service:
I brought this issue to the store's attention on a Friday. The staff informed me that the manager would provide a new battery and that I would be contacted early the following week. This seemed reasonable, as it was already Friday evening.
I received a call on the following Tuesday, where I explained the issue again. They reassured me that a new battery would be provided and that they would contact me soon. Unfortunately, it has been two weeks since that call, and I have yet to hear back from them.
Observations and Concerns:
I expected a new machine to be fully operational upon purchase. I observed that the battery appeared to be from previous years. While it was still technically new, it seemed to have been stored for so long that it got damaged. I'm willing to overlook this, but only if they honor their promise to provide a replacement battery.
Overall Performance:
Aside from the battery issue, the mower itself works well and performs as expected. I've used it twice for my lawn without any other problems.
Conclusion:
While the initial sales experience and the mower's performance are satisfactory, I am disappointed with the post-sales service. I spent a significant amount of money and expected a fully functional product from the start. Rona Barrie needs to improve their follow-up service and ensure that their products are truly ready for use upon delivery.
In conclusion, the mower does its job well, but the unresolved battery issue and lack of timely follow-up have marred what could have been a great purchase experience.

Battery no good
I bought this early may first time we used it it would not start. We had to jump the battery. Second time we used it battery had to be jumped again. Battery tester says it has 7 volts. Jumped it again today won't hold a charge. Tried to call for help can't reach anyone

Bought at Rona and it's one disappointment after another.
Assembly required. Not sure if this is store or manufacturer problem.
Battery fully discharged but after obtaining a charger, the mower did start but not until next day. I suspect the battery may have suffered significant degradation due to being completely discharged.
if you do decide to buy. go to a retailer who will ship it assembled and checked out.

bought the t100 a year ago 2 month in we cant keep running .2 shops have tried to reair at my expence with no positive out come .no help fro m craftsman or rona looking fa new mower ,will not waste my money on craftsman again
