Ecological Attributes
Using an electric tool generates significantly fewer greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollutants than a conventional model using gasoline. Also, the use of a plug instead of a battery reduces the impacts associated with its production and end-of-life.

50 foot pine 11 inch trunk cut down and cut up.
This pole saw is a bit heavy to use it at much of a slant, but it is great to have some added use when things are otherwise out of reach. this saw cuts like a gas powered chainsaw, I'm very pleased.

Practically Perfect Polesaw
This saw performed just as I thought it would. It was easy to assemble and cut everything I had to cut. Only drawback is what every corded pole saw with the guts on the far end of the pole has; it gets heavy when fully extended.
Otherwise, quite happy with it.

Not safe out of th box
The coupling that holds the saw extension coupling not tight, the adjusting latch was tight and held the pole at proper place. The screw that held the saw coupling to the fiber glass handle was not tight enough so the saw separated from the pole about 12 ft. in the air, quite an experience. That screw was assembled at factory would have expected it to be tight, the adjustable length screw was tight.. Check every screw on the saw to make sure it was assembled properly. For safety sake would not recommend this product, expected more from craftsman product.

My first chainsaw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've lived in an apartment for a long time and got in to a house not long ago, and needed to trim some branches that were laying on the cable TV line running from the road to the house. I looked around online for electric saws and pole saws, and found this one at a local store at a great price. I was able to cut the branch down easily and trimmed some other branches, and later on used the saw by itself to cut up a small tree for an elderly neighbor. It cut through everything easily and ran like a champ. The only issue I had was when I extended the pole out to its full length to take down a branch by the house, when it cut through, it took some strength to keep the chainsaw and pole from swinging down in to the ground once it went through. So be careful extending it out all the way due to the weight of the saw. I'll be using it mostly as a chainsaw now anyway, and am very happy with it.

Top Heavy, Easy to Lose Control
Saw is very safe if using without pole extension although it does cut well. I have found that the saw must be placed on the branch to be cut before turning it on. It will start cutting immediately without any control problem. However, after the branch is cut, watch out for the falling branch and the falling saw. Because it is so top heavy, it is difficult to control it when there is no branch holding it up. Also, the pole wants to vibrate itself loose so it must continuously be retightened, otherwise, the pole may come loose from the saw creating a very dangerous situation. Had I known the pole was too weak for the weight of the saw and how top heavy it is, I would have not purchased it. Spend a bit more and get a saw that is properly balanced and not as dangerous for cutting high limbs.
As far as a saw to use without the pole, it is great. There is enough power to cut through most limbs and logs.
One more thing. Be prepared to have plenty of chain oil handy. This thing goes through oil like a 1941 flat head with 200,000 miles on the odometer. It is messy but the chain stays very wet, which is a good thing. Also, don't run it if anyone is near the front. They will get an oil bath. :)
I am giving it one star because the saw, by itself, is very good at cutting but having the price include the pole was a waste of money.
If I could, I would return this to the store and purchase a stand alone saw, without the pole but because I have used the saw, I doubt the store would honor the return.
There must be a better and safer pole saw and I plan on finding it.

Great Product
Great product easy to use and versatile. You can use the chain saw by itself or add the extension pole.

Outstanding
What a great saw for around the house and the limbing pole works perfect. For those whining about the weight that is what makes the swa work so great pick the limb, place the saw, hit the button the weight does all the work!!
