I loved the idea of purchasing the unfinished wood so I could paint it the colour I wanted. First, they don't tell you that most of the pieces need to be sanded. The instructions are extremely vague. They say they have pre-drilled holes. Only some are. The pieces you are attaching to don't have pre-drilled holes so it's a lot of guess work. The hinge was installed in the wrong place (it came attached to the lid of the bench) so I had to remove it and re-install it in the correct place. This left me with 18 holes on the lid of the bench-see photo. I painted the pieces before putting them together and painted around this. Now I have to try and fill those holes and repaint that area. I see in other reviews, this is a problem. Halfway through putting it together I was ready to pack it up and return it, painted and all.

Difficile d'assemblage
Il n'y a AUCUNE mesure sur le livret d'instructions d'assemblage, on ne sait pas trop quelle hauteur il doit y avoir entre le plancher et le dessous du banc, ce qui complique l'assemblage.
De plus: La penture n'a pas été installée du bon côté du bois; on doit la défaire et la remettre au bon endroit.
En terminant, aucune indication sur l'espace qu'il doit y avoir entre le panneau de devant et celui de derrière; ça complique encore plus les choses.
Bref, à faire et défaire et refaire, on se retrouve avec des trous supplémentaires qui affectent le look... et ça aiguise la patience !!!! Je ne recommande pas à un débutant!

Cape Code bench not great quality
This product was a bit of a pain - the hinge had been attached on the wrong side of the wood so I had to take it off and reattach it. Generally the connections are flimsy and do not line up particularly well. I don’t recommend it.
