The shelving on this stand cannot be set exactly in the middle but it's close. It has 7.25" on the top opening and 7.75" on the bottom.

I purchased the Sonax Fs 3580 tv stand couple months ago. I am very pleased with it. The size is just right in that it fits in the space where I wanted it. The shelves are able to accommodate my vcr dvd player plus there is room to store other small items. It is not very heavy but it is quite stable. The colour gives a nice contrast with the contents of the room. It took a little while to assemble but it was straight forward. I would recommend it to any one who likes contemporary stle.
