A durable, versatile unit for the frequent user
This unit provides the features that I need for doing maintenance work: the ability to focus the beam, the ability to adjust the direction of the beam straight ahead or down, and the ability to infinitely adjust the light level. My first unit was used for at least a few hours per week for six years. Now, I am using my second unit, while this purchased unit will serve as my backup. The first unit eventually failed due to the hinge breaking and that may have been my fault. The head strap was also getting quite stretched. However, this problem was resolved by simply doubling up a section of the strap. The most useful feature is the light control lever, providing variable light intensity for just the right amount of light for the given situation. Coast produces many headlamp models, but only two or three models with this light control lever feature.
