WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND A DUST MASK!!
This is a very dusty product - just removing a panel from the packaging kicked up a cloud of dust. Things seem to settle once it's installed but I strongly recommend that you wear eye protection and a particle mask when handling the product. The dust was extremely irritating.
Material thickness is listed at 2", more like 1-1.5" in reality. Material density varies a lot also - some panels could be cut with a good pair of scissors, but others needed to be hacked apart with a serrated blade. Batts are not rigid enough to stand up in a wall or ceiling cavity.
The product does do a good job of dampening sound, and the flexibility is good for wrapping HVAC ducts. The 16" width is not quite enough to completely wrap a 5: diameter pipe, but it's close.
I can't comment on the thermal insulation capability of this product, but given the varied thickness and density, I have to think R8 is optimistic.
Cost was approximately double Rockwool batts.

Works well.
We bought this last year to wrap the outside part of our AC. Covered with plastic and no drafts at all. Worked great!

Perfect for my project.
I bought this to fill the holes in the drywall behind baseboard heaters to eliminate the drafts. It worked perfectly.
