Silent-FX Noise-reducing gypsum board is specifically designed to reduce airborne sound transmission between 2 adjoining spaces when used in wall or floor/ceiling assemblies. Scores and snaps like traditional drywall, for easy installation time saving.
Features a viscoelastic polymer that dampens sound energy. Enclosed in a 100% recycled moisture and mold-resistant face and back paper.
Intended for use on interior walls and ceilings in residential, commercial or institutional applications
Can be used for new construction or renovations over wood or steel framing

This is 67lbs.The 5/8 fireproof one is 73lbs and $77 cheaper. Will the fireproof one be just as good for sound dampening.I am also putting a layer of 1/2” cork,sound channels and roxul.So, is this one worth it?By how much more soundproof is it than 5/8”?
Is one sheet of 5/8” fireproof drywall better for sound than one sheet of silentfx drywall? Note: the fireproof drywall is heavier than silentfx.

très bon
j'ai acheté le gypse pour un mur isolé du bruit, très bon produit, dispendieux par contre, très difficile à coupé, pas comme le gypse conventionnel, scie sauteuse, avec un couteau à gypse c'est possible mais ça prend une très bonne lame, neuve et même encore.
