The Calmat Plus water treatment unit is designed for commercial or residential applications for a water flow capacity up to 15 m³/h ~ 66 US GPM and up to 3" pipes. Calmat Plus is a unique alternative to water softeners that solves hard water problems without using chemicals or salt. It works maintenance-free and is easy to install, no tools or plumbing are needed. It is an eco-friendly water treatment system that protects your piping system and appliances against scale deposits and rust, prolonging their lifespan. Its exclusive electric impulse technology is based on the principle of physical water treatment; changing the crystallization process of the liquid calcium, removing the adhesive power of hard scale. Calmat works independently from the water velocity, unlike other systems that use magnetic fields.

The Calmat is designed for residential use and will work for pipes up to 1 ½” (38mm) with a maximum water flow capacity of 3 m³/h (13 US GPM). It has two impulse cables wrapped around the pipe and should be enough for most residential properties.
The Calmat PLUS is more powerful and intended for commercial or bigger residential applications which require a higher maximum water flow capacity, up to 15 m³/h (66 US GPM) and up to 3” pipes. It has four impulse cables wrapped around the pipe instead of two, and is usually used in houses with pools or irrigation systems, as well as commercial applications.
Generally, Calmat would be enough in most residential homes unless you want the extra power of Calmat Plus. Calmat Plus is perfect for those applications which have bigger pipes and run a lot more water continually.
Calmat and Calmat Plus benefits: Reduction of scale deposits in the whole piping system and appliances (increasing lifespan), dismantles already existing deposits, corrosion protection, increased water pressure, minimizes rust, and minimizes bacterial growth in pipes.

When it install, is it okay to install on the vertical pipe position?
Yes, the Calmat unit can be installed in any orientation that is convenient, vertically or horizontally.

Does this work on poly well piping or pex?
Calmat can be installed on all pipe materials, including Poly and PEX. The products are supplied with different setting programs that generate the proper impulse variation based on your pipe material and diameter to achieve an optimal performance. In your case you would use the plastic setting.
