The new control uses Broan-NuTone®’s proven Sensaire humidity-sensing technology, which can detect a rapid rise in humidity to turn the fan on. It responds to increases in humidity up to 4X faster* than other humidity sensors, to help fight mold and improve air quality.

- Precise sensitivity adjustment - Variable setting from 20% to 80% relative humidity so the fan works when the homeowner wants it to regardless of climate or season

BAD BAD BAD
Like everyone else is saying, turns on even when there is no change in humidity. Turned on the lowest sensitivity and even with no change in climate it still turns on. Thought I had a broken switch but apparently many others have experienced this too. I wish I could get refund for such a useless product. Don’t PURCHASE.

Should have heeded negative reviews
I typically don’t write reviews but in this case I want to share my thoughts on the 82W humidity switch. I installed a month ago and tried every iteration of controls. The most recent was the RH% and had it set at highest setting to trigger fan on. It now cycles at all times of the day and clearly there isn’t the humidity level to call for it to cycle. Had to pull it out and replace with standard rocker switch. I wished I had heeded previous reviews claiming same. Caveat emptor!!

False Activations
I'm a licensed master electrician / electrical contractor. I purchased two of these for my personal home. I was able to get one of them to work on auto sensing by setting the sensitivity to low. Any higher setting and the unit would false activate. However, by doing this it takes a long time for the unit to activate when a shower is turned on. I was not able to get the second unit to work properly. Even at the lowest setting it will false activate with no change in humidity or people movement by the unit. Very disappointed in this product by Broan-Nutone as I've been using their products for over 30 years and they are the gold standard for reliability. I will be returning these and purchasing another brand after I do more research. I trusted Broan and didn't do my research on this unit.

Auto humidity failed to work correctly
I purchased this for a bathroom we was remodeling with the new fan that helps with the light to decrease bacteria. The first switch continued to trigger on even if no change to humidity level in our home. Adjusted the settings for every possible direction and it continued to trigger on throughout dmthe day and night. I contacted customer support and they sent me a new switch. Same thing occurred. I do not want my conditioned air to routinely being pulled outside. I purchased a Leviton auto humidity sensor and it appears to me working correctly. I do not know if I received 2 bad products but both sensors failed to work properly.

Not accurate
I had the 1st one replaced under warranty because I thought it was defective but this one does the same thing. I have the humidity set to 80% but it turns the fan on throughout the day even with the AC dehumidifying the house. I'm going to return it and use it a regular switch.

Now the kids don’t have to remember to turn the fa
I had put in a new 110 CFM in the kids bathroom but they kept forgetting to turn it on so I got this switch and it goes on automatically and turns the fan off again when the humidity is back down. Problem resolved!
