Looks nice but lacks QA - inspect before install
Just installed in our bathroom reno. We were expecting an easy installation as the box indicates but that was not the case. Once the fan portion had been mounted, we had to attach the light fixture; however, we discovered that the fan did not have the pin sticking down that you were to attach the light portion too. Upon further inspection, I round a pin lying on the floor below the opening to the attic. We thought phew, it fell out of the box, we'll just attach it (despite the fact that the instructions did not include this step). Well, did that turn into an ordeal! The hole for the pin was too small which meant my husband had to drill it a hair bigger. There weren't any threads on the hole so we had to make a trip to the hardware store for a nut to secure the pin. We thought that would solve the problem, but the pin ended up being too long and we couldn't tighten the light fixture enough, so we called my dad over and he inspected it and had to cut the pin shorter. A thirty minute job turned into a day and a half and a very angry husband. This was not a cheap fixture by any means so this was beyond annoying. We also purchased this at a Rona that actually had it in stock which was a 2 hour drive for us, so we couldn't just turn around and get another one. Thankfully, it was worth the hassle as it looks much nicer than your standard vent. Hopefully it lasts.
