Description
This unit from BRK(TM) is a combination smoke detector and electrochemical ion carbon monoxide detector designed to be hardwired to 120 V electrical power. It and can be interconnected with up to 12 smoke alarms, and up to 6 smoke/carbon monoxide combination alarms so all units will go into alarm if any single unit is triggered. It also features a 9V battery backup so it continues to function if your building power fails temporarily. It is equipped with an alarm and a low battery latch. This device gives you a 10-year end-of-life warning to indicate when the unit needs to be replaced. This product is backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

Great experience ordering from Rona
Bought to replace an existing BRK - very happy that I could see the model # to match and while the name is First Alert it was still names BRK and in a BRK box. Same wiring and changed out in 2 mins. Also really like it came with Duracell brand battery and not generic brand. Rated 4 of 5 stars cause I don't know how the product will perform or last. My old BRKs said 10 years but lasted only 7 so not super impressed with that but in this case I had no choice to buy the same to replace (in a condo). Overall very happy with Rona experience....I ordered on Rona.ca - super fast delivery and was on sale. Thank you Rona!

Hoping They Will Last!!!
I bought these to replace 2 previous First Alert detectors. The previous detectors were 10-year sealed Lithium batteries that failed after only 4 +/- years. They chirped to indicate that their batteries had/were dying.
I just hope these replacements last longer than the originals. Time will tell!

Product OK - Dud battery included
I bought this to replace my current smoke detector and it was in relatively good condition but the battery included did not work and was functionally dead upon testing. Thus I had to go out and buy a 9V battery ASAP so I would have a working machine. I was quite inconvenienced by this and disappointed considering the product was expensive.

Easy to install
I purchased several on line to replace all of the ones in my home. When they arrived, I saw that some had manufacture dates that were already 3 or 4 years old so I returned these as First Alert goes by this date for their warranties. Rona happily exchanged them for me. Now I have all updated ones and they are working great!

Good for the next 7 years
I bought it to replace the brk CO detector in the house. The old one has reached its lifespan of 7 years and began to chirp. Replacement was relatively easy. I did need to took out the old backing plate as well because they were different models. The new one was supposed to last 10 years since manufacturing date, which was 2020. I bought it in 2023 so only about 7 years left. Oh well.
