GREAT PERFORMANCE and EXCELLENT VALUE- USE TLC
Have bought this product the first of April 2024. We have put it through at least 2 sets of blades and 6 weeks of steady planning very hard ten foot maple boards and about 100 2 by 6 pine boards plus. It has performed flawlessly. NOTE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE A DUST EXTRACTOR TO hook up between any standard or large size wet dry vac. It will save you a ton of wear and tear and will make using the machine a pleasure and eliminate any dust. We also hooked up a ten foot roller. That really helped as well. I was so impressed I purchased two more units. Given what we have put this unity thru I would have expected it to complain. We have cleaned and oiled it weekly. I think this is very important if you are putting it thru heavy use. Hope you get as much luck and enjoyment as I have had. We have emptied at least 8 very large bags of sawdust. To give you some idea. AGAIN USE THAT DUST EXTRACTOR!!! JOHN

Plutôt déçu de la qualité et de la robustesse du produit. Pas moyen de planner un morceau sans aider l’entraineur à avaler mon morceau et encore là, il éprouve de la difficulté. Je ne m’en suis servi que 5 fois.Très décevant surtout pour planner du bois dure.

Une machine performante
acheté en occasion en 2010 en région caraibe .Connais le model depuis 1983 cette raboteuse économe en courant electrique est une perle qui fait un travail impécable pour qui apprend à bien l"utiliser avec des lames toujours impeccables, un plateau passé à la parafine petit secret de pro vous ne passez aucun bois non dégauchi SVP des pieces déja dégauchies c'est la base du métier le reste est affaire de sensibilité et d'écoute ....La machine à son chant on s'adapte ne demandez pas a une machine de s'adapter elle vous révèlera plutôt vos insuffisance c'est tout. Merci Dewalt .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice machine, ejects wood chips and dust too well, overpowering my dust collector, so it blows out. Also the dust collector adapter broke after three months. Really poor and under-designed. Bound to break. Otherwise I like it, and I owned other makes and types before.

Extremely strong, but wear good ear protection
I have had this planer for over two years and have planed everything from maple and oak to pine and fir. It does an mazing job and with the infeed and outfeed tables installed and adjusted, I get no snipe at all.

Makes work easy. Just goes through blades too fast
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great. Only downside is planer blades (which aren’t cheap) become dull fairly quickly, especially doing lots of hardwood. Still beats a hand plane!

Tensioner Spring Stupidity
I am trying to remove the chain tensioner so I can replace the belt (after 17 years, it failed) but the PHILLIPS screw stripped and I can't get it removed.
First, why is it a PHILLIPS instead of an allen head screw (like the rest of the screws in the machine)?
Second, its so tight it feels like thread lock was used (the 2 4mm allen screws also seemed to have thread lock because they "popped" when broken). If so, what were you thinking? Good thing I was able to use the allen wrench to put some torque on the screw so it would loosen.
Third, now that the tensioner screw is stripped, I've tried several techniques to get the screw out - but I can't get the screw to budge. Any ideas how to remove this screw without damaging the screw receptacle?
