Wire cloth helps keep mice out
I have bought several rolls of the 1/4" x 36" x 25' wire cloth. It is fairly easy to cut but make sure to wear gloves as the ends of the wire are very sharp. My big frustration with buying this online is that the search function can't always find this wire mesh. It goes by different names in different hardware stores - wire cloth, hardware cloth, furniture mesh, etc. I am using it to try to keep mice out of the basement. I may have made a mistake when I bought 1/2" mesh, but I am sure that the 1/4" mesh will keep the mice out, and it is easier to cut than the 1/2". It is rather expensive. Combined with spray foam insulation I hope my basement will stay warmer, too, and that the mesh will stop the mice from chewing up the foam.
