Needs $4 extra part available at Rona.
This model requires a wire rope clamp and thimble. Minus 1 star!
I used a 1/2” set. Since there’s no instructions, I’ll help out here.
-Purchase 1 or 2 wire rope clamps and thimbles (pic 1), depending on your desired set up. I used 2, you’ll see why in the pics.
-Once you have the elevator installed to the wall, make a loop with the wire that will slide over the hook at the bottom mounting bracket when the pulley is fully elevated (pic 2)
-Make sure you do this with the taught side of the wire you used to pull the pulley up.
Once you have that loop located mark it or kink it so you’ll know where to put the clamp and thimble (pic 3).
-Once that is installed you will have the means to keep the pulley up, by slipping the loop over the hook (pic 4)
-It’s an extra bit to make this product work, but for the cost, even in buying the extra bits, plus the time to create the loop, this system is worth the savings.
This took me all of 12 minutes to install the elevator, fix the loop and wire the clothesline on the pulley. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
I installed a 2nd loop because of the distance from my deck rail to the soffit. If the pulley was all the way down it would be useless to me. I located the 2nd loop to hold the pulley in an intermediate position at eye level (pic 5)
-Seriously nothing wrong with this setup. IMHO, this system beats the heck out of spending the extra $30 for an elevator with a brake.
Now, I’ll mark this one off the honey-do list and now I’m off to install a new ceiling fan. It’s soon gotta be time for a cold beer!!!

Do Not Purchase
I purchased this unit to install for a customer. It has no proper brake to keep it elevated. I returned the unit. It's a very poor design.
