I replaced all the thermostats in the house with these about 10 years ago. What I am reading is disturbing because it’s happening to me now. The black smoke stain on the wall, the unit misreading the temperature, etc. I just replaced one for these reasons (unfortunately before reading all these negative reviews) with another Aube (now Honeywell) and although it’s working fine in its first few weeks, there is one very annoying design flaw. You must select either Celsius with the 24 hour time format (16:00), or Fahrenheit with the 12 hour time format (am pm). I want Celsius with the 12 hour format but don’t have this option.
In fairness, I will say that of the seven Aube digital thermostats installed around the house, only one had all of the symptoms, which is the one I replaced. For now, the other six seem to be still working just fine. But…

JUnk - Fire Hazard Beware
These thermostats are poorly designed for baseboard heating. There are many cases of causing fires and short circuits. Buyer beware. I replaced one at a customers residence with a Sinope Electronic Thermostat which is a much higher end quality and safety record.

Sur les 5 que nous avons depuis quelques années, 1 a cessé de fonctionner, 1 autre commence à avoir quelques petites défaillances mineures mais irritantes. De toutes façons, je trouve que les options de programmation de ce modèle sont plutôt limités et ne conviennent pas à tous, nous offrant que le choix d'appliquer un horaire pour lundi au vendredi et un horaire pour samedi et dimanche, comme si tout le monde avait cet horaire de travail, ce qui est loin d'être le cas! Ce mode de programmation est donc complètement inutile pour plusieurs.

Pas durable
Peut-être que je suis trop exigeant, mais après une douzaine d’années, ils sont tous en train de lâcher un à un. Tache de fumée sur les murs, fonctionne sans arrêt et même un qui a prit en feu… dangereusement déçu du produit. C’était pourtant des thermostats subventionnés par Hydro a l’époque.
