Description
This American Standard high-efficiency Sonoma toilet offers great value, style and performance. It delivers optimal flush performance and also features a 16.5-inch rim height for improved ease of use and comfort. Its elongated siphon action bowl with direct fed jet provides excellent rim wash at every flush, meaning that you won't have to scrub it as often. Perfect!
Love it, the flushing strength is powerful, the height is what I was looking for and the elongated size is perfect. What I am extremely pleased about is that it is SO quiet, I barely hear it!! The other one I had (Crane), was extremely noisy. A great and reliable product that I strongly recommend 👌.

Toilet was easy to install. It came with all the needed parts - wax ring, bolts, etc.
Quiet operation. Handle a little harder to press than previous toilets I have used but it feel nice, firm, solid, when pressing it.

No Soft Close Lid
I've bought a number of American Standard Cadet 3 Toilets in the past, but this model was not available in my new hometown so I opted for the Sonoma.
Seemed like a good unit until I realized there is no soft close lid, so it slams shut. Seriously? I replaced a crap no-name toilet from the 80s, and it had a soft close feature.
How much could it POSSIBLY cost to include this on all seats these days. Who in their right mind would WANT their lids slamming shut
Larger 'loads' may require a double flush due to the 4.8lpf, I have had TP come back up a few times already.
I would have picked the other brand the sales guy tried to get me to buy that had soft close for cheaper, but I was adamant about American Standard due to our history. Loyalty lost!

Poor flushing action
I bought this toilet in January for a bathroom renovation. It was correctly installed by my contractor but does not flush properly. With my contractor's help I did a bit of troubleshooting and it flushes well with a FULL bucket of water in the bowl but is otherwise a very slow flush. I have called my plumber to help troubleshoot it. I'm sorry I didnt spend more $ on the toilet and I will also be contacting American Standard. I am on a septic system, not a municipal water system. Avoid if you are on a septic-well arrangement.

Great toilet, without breaking the bank.
Easy to install. Comfort height is definitely more comfortable than traditional height. The bowl seems smaller and more shallow, but the flush (though it uses less water than the old toilet) is more than ample to flush away the contents. Will likely buy another when I replace another toilet in the future.
My only minor complaint is I prefer a solid seat, but that's just preference. 😉

Disappointed
Had this toilet for just over 2 years. Worked great when it was new. 2 years later it doesnt flush at all. You have to flush 3 or 4 times before it works.if this is what american standard is putting out i dont think i will ever buy another one
