I bought this Echo Dot with clock to use as a bedroom alarm clock. I love that it keeps accurate time and that the brightness of the display adjusts to the ambient light in the room. After using it reliably for a year I almost missed a flight when the alarm function didn’t work to get me up one morning. Since then the unit continues to hang a couple of times a day. After giving it a command the LEDS at the bottom come on and stay on. At this point the only way to restore it is to unplug it for a few seconds. I have searched the web for a solution and see that others are having the same issue. I have tried reloading it from scratch to no avail. I can only assume that its a hardware design issue. There has been no response from Amazon on the issue. I have 8 other Echo variants and none of them have the problem, however, I have lost confidence in the reliability of Echo’s in general and now use my phone for a wake up alarm.

Amazing sound!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have Alexa devices in numerous places in my home so this Amazon Echo Dot has found its way on my husbands nightstand. He was previously using his phone as an alarm clock for work and now uses it instead, and with a simple tap on the device shuts the alarm off. Sleek design matches with any decor. The clock light isn’t overbearingly bright which has been the main reason we haven’t had a desktop alarm clock in our bedroom as I’m one that needs to sleep in a dark room as lights tend to bother me even when my eyes are closed. The sound that it produces when I play music during household chores is so clear and I can be hear it perfectly around my home. I’m happy to have Alexa around in my home!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever life gets too busy, this multitasking tool makes life easier and I’m all up for it. I love that this little piece of technology has become such an essential in my household. From turning on the ac, to play music while I’m in the kitchen. I like that the glove shape it’s very cute and looks sophisticated which is a nice touch compared to previous versions. The clock is very easy to look at. Great to have it in any place around the house, but for me, this works best in my room. The microphone quality is pretty good. Great to set alarms, reminders etc. one of the features that I enjoy the most is that it works great with smart plugs to simplify my routine.
