Smartlink base works great
I assembled the Smartlink base in a couple of hours this weekend. It was fairly easy to assemble with one challenging step where you needed to align bolt holes under tension. I used it to aerate the lawn this morning. The system worked great, and I was able to complete the one acre lawn in about an hour. Highly recommend! And I like supporting an American small business. Keep making great products!

Handle
The whole piece of equipment is well made. You must pay close attention to the directions when you put it together. I have used it once on my 1.5 acres of lawn. The only fault that i see is the lifting handle. it is weak when it is loaded with 80 pounds of weight. I am going to addstrengthing metal to it.

SmarLink Platform Has Design and Build Issues
The SmartLink Platform is easy to assemble, but a few design oversights make it impossible for me to give this implement anything higher than a 3 star rating.
For one, the handle used to raise or lower the system is too short to be reachable from the seat of most lawn tractors, which makes it impossible to raise and lower the system while on the move. This means each tim you need to raise the system to traverse a sidewalk, driveway, or stepping stones, or extend your turn radius briefly into your neighbor’s yard, you have to set the parking brake, jump off the tractor, use the handle to lift the system, get back on the tractor, get it into the right position to proceed with your aerating or dethatching project, then set the parking brake, jump off the tractor…. The lifting mechanism on the SmartLink platform definitely could have been designed better from a user perspective to make it operable without having to continuously dismount and remount your lawn tractor.
Secondly, the handle itself is too short and doesn’t provide enough leverage to easily and safely raise and lower the the system when it’s fully loaded with the maximum allowed weight on the tray without putting a lot of strain on your arms and back. Having a longer handle would provide more leverage and reduce the risk of muscle strain for folks using this system to aerate their yards.
Thirdly, the lifting handle is made of a single piece of soft, flat bar steel stock. Even with the handle being too short to provide proper leverage, the handle itself on my SmartLink platform is already slightly bent from using the system to aerate 3/4 of my lawn a single time. The handle should’ve been made of a stiffer material, or made from L stock, or even a small tube for strength and rigidity.
Fourthly, the welds used to attach the tube frame that holds the wheel posts to the flat bar stock that attaches to the tray and serves as the lifting and lowering lever are insufficient. These joints are only welded on one side of the joint, which is probably why the weld broke in that spot when I was about 3/4 of the way through with using the system for the very first time to aerate my lawn a few weeks ago. When the weld failed, the flat bar itself also sheered off. This appears to have happened because the the flat bar stock used is too soft, and the designers didn’t leave enough stock on the top side of the joint with the tube frame. These factors combine to make this joint a weak point that appears likely to fail with even somewhat lighter use.
To their credit, Agri-Fab replaced this part for me, but the weld and material quality in the replacement part matches the original, which concerns me. They really should consider redesigning this joint, or at least welding both sides where the flat bar joins to the tube frame.
So in closing, if the SmartLink platform had a longer handle or some other easy-to-use-from-the-tractor-seat lifting and lowering mechanism, and if the material and weld quality could be improved, I’d feel comfortable rating this implement much higher. The SmartLink platform is great idea in theory, but as it is now, it’s a 3-star product at best.

Easy to assemble and use
Bought this last week, and assembled it in about 1 hour. I used the instructions provided and the videos mentioned (online). I was able to use it immediately, and driving on slow my tractor pulled it with no problems. I added weight for the aerators (stone blocks), and it worked great for my front and back yard. I did have issues going up hill, and had to lift the assembly twice on the inclines (because it was digging into the soil as needed). Tractor riders must dismount to lift platform when crossing driveways, etc. Of interest, this worked without removing my entire bagging assembly (only had to take off the two bags).

Used one time had two knives bend, called customer care, they said not there problem. I think these where detective as rest where ok!

Built well, performs well, stores easily
The SmartLink system is a fantastic idea. I'm getting older so the fact that my aerator and dethacher are stored separately from the smart link platform makes it easier to store and lighter (easier to move around). The master platform stores vertically, saving space in my shed.

Very Pleased!
Terrific product. Sturdy and easy to assemble. I recommend watching the AgriFab how-to video before assembling. That helped a lot.
