This AcuRite(TM) rain gauge is designed to measure precipitation or the irrigation of your grass or garden. The receptacle can collect and calculate up to 5 in. (12.7 cm) of liquid while the quantity can be calculated using inches or centimeters. This easy-to-install product can be attached to a wall, fence or placed upright on the ground. This product is backed by a 1-year limited warranty.

I live in Oregon. Had this gauge in my yard (securely fastened to a rod in the ground) for a few months, and the bottom fell out, the first time it snowed. NOT HAPPY
