Really great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my smart chopper about 3 weeks ago and was impressed with the weight and steadiness. Today, I finally had a chance to use it and I am so surprised how steady, precise and quick this chopper worked! This time of the year, I like to bake andI use lots of walnuts and pecans and chopping them is usually a hassle. Wow, this chopper took less than a minute to complete a 2 pound bag of walnuts! Normally, it takes me a long time, to using whatever I can, to bang it into the right size pieces for cookies/brownies. Also, I have arthritis in my hands, so pounding the nuts is difficult, but today, nope, was so easy, my daughter said "mom you finished already"?! I am so pleased and everyone with arthritic hands will benefit using this great and quick work chopper!

Very Useful Kitchen Tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach SmartChop Chooper is an excellent tool for my kitchen. I love the way it can chop two different sizes. When I want the bigger size of food, such as some chopped walnuts for a recipe, it can do it. I also have used it to make hashbrown potatoes. Very useful and easy to use. Also, since it comes apwart in so many pieces, it is easy to clean after using it.

Easy to use!

The first way with the SmartChop attachment - with this attachment I chopped green peppers, onions and crackers. For each activity the result was extremely the way I intended for each. The attachment avoids overprocessing. The second without the atrachment I chopped fresh tomatoes -again the perfect consistancy. J908123

A unique new food chopper that actually works.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been chopping food by hand for a long time, which we all know can be a lengthy and tedious process. And even though I would love to alleviate that task I have not been a big fan of food choppers because they tend to over process things, ie. turn them to mush. But when Hamilton Beach came out with its new SmartChop™ Food Chopper with its unique SmartChop™ attachment I thought I would give it a try. As it turns out I was pleasantly surprised, which is saying a lot coming from a self professed perfectionist, even when it comes to prepping food.
The Hamilton Beach SmartChop™ Food Chopper has the following key features:
You can chop 2 ways with either the SmartChop™ attachment to prevent over processing, or without the SmartChop™ attachment for more traditional chopping and pureeing. Switching between the 2 modes is simple and easy. It is also well constructed, light weight, easy to assemble, easy to clean and has a small footprint (6 x 7 in.), which doesn’t not take up a lot of precious counter space. It can also be easily stored away.
The really cool thing about the SmartChop™ Food Chopper is that it actually works. Although we did not try chopping all the foods listed in their processing chart we did try several different types of food, which gave us a good indication of its overall capabilities. And I’m happy to say that in most cases the Hamilton Beach SmartChop™ Food Chopper performed flawlessly chopping food to a consistent size almost instantly. Using the SmartChop™ attachment we processed some carrots and some nuts, separately of course, and they both came out beautifully. Based on the success we had with these two items we are certain that any other product with similar consistency or water content would do the same, eg. apple, cauliflower, hard cheese, fresh herbs, mushrooms, zucchini, etc., and most any kind of nut. We also removed the SmartChop™ attachment and processed 3 bulbs of garlic using the more traditional chopping method, which also worked great (a cost saving actually, since whole garlic is less expensive than the jars of minced you buy in the store).
My only complaint, and this is not a complaint directed specifically at the SmartChop™ Food Chopper per se, is that food choppers have a difficult time chopping foods with a high moisture content, such as onions and peppers, as they can quickly become over processed. In the case of the SmartChop™ Food Chopper vegetables with a high moisture content end up sticking to the sides of the SmartChop™ attachment rather than dropping through the holes, which is to be expected. However Hamilton Beach clearly points this out in their Success Tips and does offers some solutions.
All in all I am very please with the Hamilton Beach SmartChop™ Food Chopper and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to chop their food quickly and get on with cooking.

Time Saver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this Smart Chop Food Chopper for a few weeks now. I’ve used it almost daily. It’s so easy to use because it’s made well, easy to clean and chops many things in seconds instead of many minutes of hand dicing. The large bowl and all the accessories go in the dishwasher too! The vegetables come out fine chopped and the garlic is easily puréed. It doesn’t chop food into large chunks but that’s OK, the time I’ve saved has been worth it when using this chopper is worth it!

Great chopping!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used my chopper with the attachment to chop several cups of nuts and to chop carrots, celery & onion for meatballs. I loved the uniform pieces and how easy it was to food out with little waste.
I used it without the attachment to make tartar sauce - perfect!

Clever idea
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I obtained the SmartChop 2 weeks ago, and have been amazed at how well it worked. Its very easy to get a consistent size chop without having to stop every few seconds to check the size of the chop. Easy cleanup too. I love this thing.
