Description

Protect your home from the harsh winter cold and extreme summer heat with this Owens Corning R-20 insulation. It features easy to install friction fit batts that securely hold on to surfaces without a fastener. Fire resistance makes this insulation a plus for home use as it helps prevent fire spread. The batts reduce unwanted noise by absorbing sound transfer through walls. Manufactured using 73% recycled materials, the insulation provides a green alternative. Owens Corning FIBERGLAS insulation is formaldehyde-free to prevent risk to human health. Certified by GREENGUARD, it meets standards for impact on indoor air. The material provides outstanding thermal performance to help save on heating and cooling costs. The EcoTouch Pink fibreglas insulation comes in 16 in x 47 in x 6 in batts and fits 2 in x 6 in stud walls.

Ecological Attributes

This insulating product is certified ECOLOGO®. It emits fewer VOCs and formaldehyde for better air quality, reduces heat loss for energy savings, and is made from at least 45% of recycled materials to reduce the use of raw materials. The use of recycled materials decreases the environmental impacts associated with extraction of raw materials and landfilling. Would this be enough for the ceiling of the bathroom in the upper apartment of my duplex? Or do I need to add a vapor barrier before I put the drywall? My studs are 8 in, not 6 in.
